Originally from Bitonto, Professor of Internal Medicine at the Aldo Moro University of Bari, Antonio Moschetta is a Researcher of the AIRC (Italian Association for Cancer Research).
He has traveled a lot since his early years of studies. Today he studies the relationships between metabolism, nutrition, intestinal function, liver cancer.

I believe that we are the life we have led. When I walk the streets of the town that saw me as a student, my heart beats. I left because I wanted to say “I try to be who I am”, a brain on the run, understood as a brain trying abroad to try to grow more. I returned to Italy because I wanted to try to create the ‘business of minds‘, the one that gives you the opportunity to say “I teach others because together we will be a team“.

AIRC gave me the opportunity to study the metabolism, the fuel of the cancer cell, but above all it also gave me the opportunity to dare as a young returning man who wanted to focus 5 years on a new topic of interest.
Our work is to study the pathways by which the tumor feeds to grow and how these pathways differ from patient to patient, despite the fact that the tumor is identical.

In Italy science can be done if we believe more and more in the ability to give everything to others. The ‘business of minds‘ means having the ability to see the beauty in a person’s mind. From 2005, when I returned, to date, I have had 93 people in the laboratory. When you invest in young minds, in my opinion, you always earn.

I really like talking to students because I hope they can start from where we have come from and when I look at them the first thing I try to do is give my experience, the ability to see the infinitely small only associated with the complete big picture. Being born in a small place does not mean that you will be small all your life.
